The first one of the summer. June 20th. And if you've been looking for a reason to get out to the ranch, this is it.

Mortenson's Eaves Movie Ranch is opening the gates for a full day of Western goods, live music, food, drinks, chuckwagon cooking, carriage rides, and real ranch energy. Gates open at 9 AM and the day runs through 3 PM. It's free. It's open to everyone. And it's happening at one of the most historic and visually stunning pieces of land in all of New Mexico.

This is the start of something. The Western Market runs with the seasons, summer, fall, winter, and spring, and this June event is the first one. A chance to see what it's all about before it becomes the thing everyone around Santa Fe already knows about and puts on their calendar without being reminded.

Come ready to shop. Vendors are bringing cowboy hats, boots, jewelry, Navajo rugs, leather goods, original art, handmade pieces, and Western apparel from makers and craftspeople who take this stuff seriously. The kind of goods that have a story behind them. The kind of pieces you don't find at a mall and can't order online. You'll walk away with something you'll still have twenty years from now. Vendor spots are $50 and sign up is right here on the website. There are limited spots and the first market always fills faster than people expect.

The New Mexico Gunfighters will be putting on live gunfight shows throughout the day right in the movie town, which already looks like the set they were born to perform on. If you haven't seen a live gunfight show, it's exactly as entertaining as it sounds and the kids are going to lose their minds.

Clyde the Buffalo makes a special appearance from 1 PM to 2 PM. There's not much else to say about that except if you've never stood next to a buffalo, June 20th is your day.

Beyond the vendors and the shows, the ranch itself is worth the trip. Walk the movie town that's been used in Western film and television productions for decades. Take a carriage ride across the property. Pull up to the cash bar. Grab something off the chuckwagon and find a spot to sit and take it all in. Bring the family, bring your friends, bring people who have never been to anything like this because they haven't.

This is a free public event and a genuine community day. The kind of Saturday that reminds you why you live in New Mexico. Come early, stay late, and mark your calendars now because the fall market is already coming.
